Jesus gave us a new command. As I like to do with most verses, let's look at this with a consideration of what he was saying. Jesus said a new commandment....that's a wow moment. Let it sink in that Jesus, in a crowd of Jews, said "A new command I give you..." These people lived the "commands" of God given by Moses. Jesus was commanding them with the authority of God!
So Jesus was not taking this lightly and neither would anyone who heard the command.
As he love you, that's how we are to love one another. So on this day of love let's love everyone with the love of Christ. Let's all die to ourselves and give others unconditional love.
Let's seek to heal wounds and not create them. Forgive each other and don't hold grudges. Glorify God in your dealings with everyone today and always.
We say let everyday be Christmas...I say let everyday be Valentine's day.
