Don't tell me...give me a minute..I think I can remember that second one...

“Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” -Matthew 22:37-39

I know a friend that has written a book. Yes, I'm going to pump up something you should buy. If you look down the left side of my page you'll see a book by Kevin Harvey. Jonah, John, and the Second Greatest (but Most Avoided) Commandment, is an awesome read. We all get the first commandment, I think. At least we all try to do the first one, but the second one seems to be forgotten. At best, or worst, we define neighbor the wrong way. Kevin does a great job breaking down how the prophet Jonah missed this facet of God's love command as well.

Jesus goes on to say "All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:40. Why do these hold up all the others? Well, because if you look at the commandments in Exodus 20 you'll see something very cool. The first four commandments are focused on our relationship with God. The next six are focused on our relationships with people.

So as you go through the day, make sure you're loving your neighbor - yeah that means everybody.

Love God. Love people (all of Him, all of them)
